DESERTS IN PAKISTAN
Deserts, in Pakistan, make up a large part of the country’s geography, especially in the central and south-eastern regions.
Deserts in Pakistan receive very little rainfall and have large tracts of barren wastelands, with the formation of sand dunes rising sometimes to 150 m above ground level.
The desert areas in Pakistan also support wildlife including desert gazelles, bustards, jackals, foxes, wild cats, lizards snakes etc.

THAR DESERT
The Thar Desert spans an area of 175,000 square kilometers and covers large areas of Pakistan and India. It is the largest desert of Pakistan and the only subtropical desert of Asia.
This desert consists of a very dry part, the Marusthali region, in the west, and a semi-desert region in the east with fewer sand dunes and slightly more precipitation.
KHARAN DESERT
The Kharan Desert is located in Northwest Balochistan. It makes a nature boundary between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.
It is located in Kharan District. The Kharan Desert is a sandiest desert in Pakistan. It is distinct from the rest of the province’s landscape due to its sandy nature.
CHARACTERISTICS
It estimated area of more than 20,000 Square KM.
The Kharan Desert is a very sandy and mountainous desert.
The land is not fit for agriculture due to low irrigation. The occupation is mainly agriculture and farming. The terrain is mainly dry, gray-brown sand that stretches out a lot.
NUCLEAR TESTING DESERT
The desert was used for nuclear testing by the Pakistan military, making it the most famous of all deserts. It is in the centre of a large empty basin. It is estimated area of more than 20,0000 square km.
